Electrical panel upgrades
Electrical panel upgrades across the GTA
An old or undersized panel can't keep up with a modern home. We upgrade it — safely, to code, with an ESA Certificate of Inspection.
If your home still runs on a fuse box, a 60- or 100-amp service, or a panel that trips every time the kettle and the microwave run together, it's holding you back — and it can be a fire risk. Kiyan Electric upgrades panels for homes and businesses throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
We assess your current service, size the new panel to how you actually use power today (and the EV charger or heat pump you might add tomorrow), and handle the utility coordination and ESA inspection from start to finish.
Signs it's time to call
- Breakers trip or fuses blow under normal load
- You still have a fuse box or a 60/100-amp service
- You're adding an EV charger, hot tub, A/C, or heat pump
- Flickering lights, a warm panel, or scorch marks
- An insurer or home inspector flagged the panel

Questions
Panel Upgrades FAQs
Do I need an ESA permit for a panel upgrade?
Yes. In Ontario, a service or panel change requires an Electrical Safety Authority permit and a Certificate of Inspection. We pull the permit, do the work to code, and book the inspection — you get the certificate for your records and your insurer.
Will 200 amps be enough for an EV charger?
For most homes, yes. A 200-amp service comfortably carries a Level 2 charger alongside everyday loads. If you're staying at 100 amps, we can often install a load-management system so the charger and the house share capacity safely.
How long does a panel upgrade take?
A typical residential service upgrade is a one-day job, with a short planned power interruption while we cut over. We confirm the timeline and the ESA inspection window with you before we start.
Do you offer a free estimate?
Yes. We look at your current panel and service, talk through what you're planning, and give you a written, itemized quote before any work begins. Call (416) 450-4030 or send the estimate form.
