EV charger installation

EV charger installation for homes and businesses

A charger is only as safe as the wiring behind it. We assess your service, install a Level 2 charger to code, and pull the ESA permit Ontario requires.

Home charging is the reason most people love owning an EV — plug in overnight, leave with a full battery. Kiyan Electric installs Level 2 chargers for homes and businesses across the GTA, from a single garage unit to workplace and multi-unit setups.

We start by assessing your electrical system to confirm it can carry the extra load, choose the right location and cable run, and install a charger suited to your vehicle. In Ontario, an EV charger installation needs an ESA permit — we secure it for every job.

Questions

EV Chargers FAQs

Do I need an ESA permit to install an EV charger?

Yes. The Electrical Safety Authority requires a permit for every EV charger installation in Ontario — it keeps the work on record and protects you. We handle the permit and the inspection as part of the job.

Can I install a charger on a 100-amp panel?

Often, yes — with a load-management system that shares capacity between the charger and the rest of the house so nothing overloads. We assess your panel and tell you honestly whether a load manager or a 200-amp upgrade is the better value.

What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2?

Level 1 uses a standard 120-volt outlet and charges slowly — it usually comes with the car. Level 2 uses a 240-volt circuit and charges several times faster, which is what most homeowners want installed.

How much does installation cost?

It depends on your panel's capacity and the cable run from the panel to the charger. We give you a written estimate after assessing your setup — call (416) 450-4030 or use the estimate form.
